FOSTERING CHRISTREDEEMING EDUCATION
TO IMPACT AUSTRALIA
AND BEYOND
In 2024, Christian Heritage College (CHC) experienced a year of
remarkable progress and strategic development, marked by a 42% growth
over 2023, particularly within its education courses, and welcoming the
highest number of new students since 2014. Demonstrating its expanding
national influence, CHC proudly founded the first-ever Christian Teacher
of the Year Award and further expanded its national presence, now actively
collaborating through an innovative embedded model of initial teacher
education with over 50 Christian schools across Australia. Critical to its
future direction, CHC completed a comprehensive brand survey project,
which revealed a pivotal language shift, informing its new strategic plan
titled ‘Dreaming and Stewardship’.
The college also saw a significant strengthening of its brand and reputation
and strategic partnerships, attending more than 20 events throughout the
year. Financially, CHC maintained stability with Commonwealth Grant
Scheme funding including successfully achieving a grant for $998,000
which was boosted to $1 million by a generous donor, to expand our equity
and accessibility. CHC returned to a positive operating position, reporting
a small surplus for 2024. Academically, strong student satisfaction
continued, with the college launching a review of graduate outcomes and
its online learning team emerging as a market leader, even piloting the
revolutionary AI tool ‘Trek AI’. Additionally, CHC continued to enhance
its campus, notably with a newly refurbished counselling centre serving
the broader community and significant technology update in our lecture
rooms.
CHC is exceptionally well-positioned for continued national expansion,
particularly through leveraging our partnerships with INC churches to
establish new hubs in churches, with our partner schools and beyond.
We’re excited to announce new course developments and the expansion
of our business and ministry programs, alongside a significant venture
into early childhood education. To better serve students nationwide, we’re
actively exploring opportunities to offer alternative campus sites outside
of Queensland.
On the international front, CHC continues to cultivate global relationships.
For the first time, we’ve initiated international scholarships for missional
students, an area we’re keen to grow in the future. We are exploring
options for mission trips and cross-institutional study.
Research remains a cornerstone of our mission, as Christian thought and
professional practice can lead lasting positive impact. CHC is committed
to leading in this sphere and is on the verge of launching a new centre
for public theology, which promises to be a vital platform for engaging
contemporary church issues. Three faculty members have submitted
PHD theses, and we expect by mid 2025 will all have received doctoral
accreditation.
Remaining kingdom-minded, we’re continuously seeking out and
collaborating with common-missioned partners in new and innovative
ways. Discussions are currently underway with several exciting new
partnership opportunities that will further expand our educational offerings
and reach.
